ALOE VERA

Our Reboot serum contains this succulent plant which has vitamins,  minerals, amino acids, enzymes, polysaccharide and fatty acids. Primarily functions as a soothing ingredient, free radical scavenger and healing agent. Its fibroblast stimulating properties have been demonstrated to increase collagen and hyaluronic acid and soften skin.

APRICOT KERNEL SEED OIL

A light and dry oil that’s rich in essential fatty acids containing 60% omega 9 (oleic acid) and 30% omega 6 (gamma linoleic acid), vitamins A,C, E and K to reduce free radical damage, nourish, deeply hydrate and reduce redness and improve skin elasticity.

BENTONITE CLAY

Bentonite is a volcanic mineral clay capable of deeply cleaning facial pores and reducing the appearance of blemishes. The constriction of pores aids in forcing impurities and toxins out of the skin while also serving as an antibacterial agent. When bentonite is activated with water it becomes a highly porous sponge, drawing impurities from the skin. It also reduces skin irritation and becomes charged in water making it capable of binding heavy metal toxins from the skin surface.

Replenish the skin’s intercellular matrix, fortifying barrier function and increasing skin softness, hydration and natural moisturising factors with the skin. Improved stratum corneum hydration, prevents trans epidermal water loss (TEWL). Also elicit natural cleansing mechanisms within the skin.

CRANBERRY SEED OIL

Rich in antioxidants, in beta-carotene, vitamin C, vitamin E,  Cranberries are thought to have a high salicylic acid content, This acid has important exfoliating properties that can help to keep skin looking and feeling clean and clear. Cranberry extract is a good source of B vitamins, as well as vitamin C. For skin, that means protection against internal and external aggressors.

Coriander seed essential oil is an invigorating, stimulating oil. Some consider it an aphrodisiac!

COENZYME Q10 (Ubiquitone)

Coenzyme Q10 is found in every cell in the body. It is pivotal in the production of biological energy (ATP) inside the cells. It is also a potent antioxidant neutralising destructive free radicals which can damage and age skin cells. CoQ10 is a small molecule that can relatively easily penetrate skin cells and increase intercellular lipids.

The human body naturally produces CoQ10. As we age, the body’s production declines, resulting in reduced ability to fight free radical damage, which in turn impacts skin repair and regeneration and production of collagen and elastin. A 1999 German research study reported that long-term use of CoQ10 reduced the appearance of wrinkles around the eyes.

HYALURONIC ACID (SODIUM HYALURONATE)

Boosts skin hydration dramatically. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a natural moisturising factor (NMF) found in the deeper skin layers. Referred to nature’s ‘super moisturiser’, this substance is able to hold 1000 times its weight in water and is applied topically to deeply hydrate by constantly attracting moisture to skin. This plumps the skin and temporarily reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines and helps to provide a barrier of protection for the skin.

HA promotes wound healing in a number of ways. It is an integral component of the extracellular matrix and plays a key role in creating the perfect environment for facilitating the motility and migration of the cells required for the re-epithelialisation process into granulation tissue. This includes the proliferation and migration of the basal keratinocyte cells into the wound space.

HA can form a complex with reactive oxygen species and reduce the toxicity of free radicals. It also displays anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. HA has the ability to nourish and promote youthful characteristics via deep dermal hydration and visible skin plumping.

LACTIC ACID (AHA)

Reclaibrates skin to a healthy, acidic pH level. Reactivates youth enzymes and deactivates ageing enzymes. Improves skin tone and refines texture, stimulates collagen synthesis and increases skin radiance. Fades epidermal pigmentation and promotes skin hydration.

MALIC ACID (AHA)

Malic acid is an AHA found in apples and has unique antioxidant properties that other AHA’s don’t have. Malic acid also contains unique hydrating properties and leaves a protective, moisturising layer on the skin.

NIACINAMIDE

Niacinamide boosts skin immunity and increases the production of the skin’s natural ceramides in the stratum corneum. Ceramides lubricate and protect the skin from moisture loss (TEWL). Niacinamide results in a more hydrated, dewy complexion and a reduction in the appearance of fine lines.

Niacinamide assists in regulating oil glands and minimising inflammation, skin redness, sensitivity and irritation.. It has been shown to be more effective than topical antibiotics. B3 is an excellent alternative for acne management as it does not result in the emergence of antibiotic resistant strains of bacteria in the community.

Topical Vitamin B3 also prevents photo-immunosuppression and reduces the appearance of hyperpigmentation by preventing melanin transfer from the melanocyte to the keratinocyte.

PROVITAMIN B5 (PANTHEON)

Provitamin B5 will work to stabilise the skin barrier, soothe irritation, promote wound healing, improve skin softness and boost hydration levels to plump the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines. It has also been clinically proven to exhibit anti-bacterial properties.

PROPANEDIOL

Emulsifies oil, dirt and makeup. Stimulates ceramide synthesis.

PETTITGRAIN OIL

Has a fresh, green woody aroma that is thought to reduce anxiety and mental fatigue. Also helps balance skin oil levels.

PRESERVATIVE

Phenoxyethanol (PE) is a preservative found naturally occurring in green tea and chicory. For commercial purposes, phenoxyethanol has been synthetically re-created in a laboratory. This is known as making a “nature identical” chemical.

0.5% RETINOL

A deeply penetrative form of Vitamin A. Skin cells use Vitamin A to repair DNA damage, stimulate collagen production, fade hyperpigmention and decongest and prevent breakouts. 

RESVERATROL

The red wine antioxidant for your face! Directly targets Infrared (IR) ageing. As a result, the skin is protected against loss of firmness and elasticity from IR and UV radiation.

SAFFLOWER OIL

Like a multivitamin supplement for the skin, Safflower oil is rich in magnesium,  vitamin B6, and ceramides, all necessary for keeping skin firm, supple and well-hydrated. Also has dirt busting qualities that can help unclog the pores and reduce blackheads and spots.

SALICYLIC ACID (BHA)

A natural source of salicylic acid (BHA) obtained from white willow bark.  We use it in our Reboot serum to activate youth enzymes and simulate new cell formation. BHA works on the uppermost layer of the skin and within the pores. It is excellent for acne sufferers as it is able to exfoliate and decongest pores and prevent breakouts. It is also effective for individuals with rosacea, psoriasis and folliculitis due to its anti-inflammatory properties. It possesses antibacterial, antifungal and exfoliating properties.

SQUALENE

Stabilised and derived purely from olive. This ingredient reduces the appearance of dry, stressed skin. Pure squalene is derived from cold pressed organically grown olives. It is a 100% pure concentrate rich in antioxidants, vitamins and nutrients.

ZINC OXIDE

Sunscreen active that reflects and scatters harmful UV light. Zinc oxide is found naturally in the body. It is also indicated for use on acne sufferers as zinc oxide is non-comedogenic and will not clog pores.
